Over the years, and multitude of new laptops, desktops and hard drive failures. I have installed the same software again and again until I am sick of installing more applications and rethinking what to install.

Applications that I first grab, before starting work on a new PC.

  • Firefox && IE Lite View, Diigo Bookmarks, AutoAuth, (Chromin Frame, Chromifox Basic), Menu Editor
  • Pidgin && Facebook Chat plugin
  • Launchy application launcher
  • Gadwin Print Screen
  • PDF-Xchanhge Viewer (This is the free option, that lets you annotate PDF’s)
  • Cute PDF Printer
  • Git for Windows (also includes Unix style commands)
  • 7-zip to work on Archive files

All the applications configured with one guiding design principle, Increased Screen real estate (eliminate all buttons, bars, empty spaces, to increase the work area) and a simple look and feel. Next time I will post some approaches on Folder structure and communication types.

Now, I can attest to the fact that “The Couch to 5k in 9 weeks running program” works.

Wanted to say this earlier on, But have waited for the whole 9 weeks to check on the success of the program and its impact on my life style, more important, my attitude towards exercising and workout, The one thing I used to and can do well is Hiking, Running wasn’t ever in my thoughts. A mental note to follow this program as outlined in Couch to 5K has gotten me off my couch.. I am happy that I have followed thru on this, per my earlier suggestions of making a habit, by Trial Run
